Passport production award of 2009

In operation Status as of 2 December 2010 · Funding type: Not published

The immigration minister told Parliament that De La Rue signed the GBP 400 million passport contract on 2 July 2009, with a ten-year service beginning on 5 October 2010 1. Michael Meacher challenged procurement fairness, potential conflicts and the rejection of 3M's claimed GBP 100 million saving. Damian Green defended the competition and said no convincing evidence supported reopening it 1. This record preserves both positions without deciding their merits. Its operational status is historical. Later contract changes, final payments and handover acceptance are not established by this debate.
