BIKES automated motorcyclist immigration clearance

In operation Status as of February 2007 · Funding type: Not published

NEC stated in March 2007 that it had received the BIKES award in 2006. 1 ICA's annual report records launches at Tuas in October 2006 and Woodlands in February 2007. The initial system authenticated single motorcyclists using a passport reader followed by a thumbprint check. ICA described eligibility for Singaporeans, Malaysian permanent residents of Singapore and long-term pass holders. The service was free for those users. 2 This record concerns the initial motorcycle-clearance system, not later passenger-car or passport-free programmes. Contract price, duration and supplier payment arrangements remain unpublished in these sources.
