European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS)
Proposed
ETIAS will require visa-exempt non-EU travellers to apply online before visiting 30 European countries, with most decisions made automatically within minutes 1. On 17 July 2025 the Commission set the fee at EUR 20 instead of EUR 7, with under-18s and over-70s exempt, and said operations were expected in the last quarter of 2026 1. Sources conflict on timing. On 8 July 2026 InsideFlyer reported, citing The Points Guy, that eu-LISA had confirmed a 2027 target after technical problems linked to the Entry/Exit System 2. No contract value or vendor for ETIAS was found in the sources reviewed.
